uMobix Review

Let me share with you my personal experience with uMobix. I think it’s one of the best and reliable parental control app available today.

Three months ago I gave my son a new smartphone on his 12th birthday.

I was so excited about the idea of presenting him the gift that he’d wanted for so long, that I totally forgot about preventing measures for the things our kids encounter online. Any parent who has seen their child with that glassy-eyed appearance, browsing carelessly through enormous amounts of websites and losing track of time — knows exactly what I’m talking about.

So, after a couple of restless weeks, me and my wife decided to find a way to monitor his smartphone. We were especially concerned about those chatting apps our son uses with not always age-appropriate functionality.

Our friends suggested uMobix — a modern and powerful app that covers so many features for monitoring all online activities. It works much faster than many other parental control programs and comes at a reasonable price. That fitted our primary requests perfectly: being able to access our son’s smartphone any second we want and don’t spend a fortune on it.

Here is my review based on 2 months of usage.

Why uMobix  Stands Out

TBH, we had experience using similar software for monitoring older son’s tablet before. Our primary complaints with it were inability to update GPS location in real time and a very confusing interface.

After a while, there were some troubles with performance while switching between sections. From time to time it just got me back to where I started with no particular reason. In such a case you begin to suspect that the data you receive may not be completely accurate  giving that the app does not work properly.

The problem with interfaces is not that much of a trouble, but it irritates when you cannot sort things out quickly. When we purchased uMobix we finally got what we wanted: no bugs, no problems with performance, no memory management issues, immediate access to the target phone.

Installation

You can choose from a basic or full plan. We started with basic to see how it works. You can pay with a credit card or PayPal.

Once purchased, they send a welcome email with a detailed instruction on how to install the app on your kid’s phone. It involves configuring some settings and that’s it. After installation, you can log into your account and start tracking.

Don’t worry, the app is completely undetectable if you opt for hiding its icon. uMobix possesses a low memory footprint, so it runs in a discreet manner without bringing down the target phone’s performance.

If your child owns an iPhone, you can spy using iCloud credentials. All you have to do is typing username and password. No physical access requested.

Start Monitoring

Once you install the app, it gets the data synced. The process might take some time depending on how much data is gathering. Then you open up the Control Panel in any browser convenient to you.

I want to stress that uMobix is incredibly easy to navigate. Even for tech-dummies like me. Your personal space is a simple dashboard with a navigation pane on the left consisting of several sections. Here you can choose where to start looking.

Basic Plan Features

The Basic plan provides all the regular features, like:

• Real-time GPS Tracking: You can take the whereabouts of your kid any second you want, and be sure the data is fresh as it is updated every 10 minutes. What I loved the most is the preview of location history with timestamps, visit frequency and everything. There is a map view that clearly shows current and historical locations. You can see a demo on the website, just look how convenient and user-friendly the map is.

• Call Logs: The basic plan allows you to instantly view the entire phone call history log of the target device. The calls made, calls received, calls missed, deleted, date stamps, the name of the contact, phone numbers, and duration of the call itself. Extremely useful data that allows to spot a suspicious contact and call there yourself.

• Text Messages: You can read the target’s phone SMS even after they’re deleted.

• Photo gallery: All of the photos on the phone will be uploaded to your account. With the ability to snap photos easier than ever this feature has never been more actual.

• Contact List: Even if your kid has saved the contact numbers under the false names, which happens more often than you might think, you can reveal their real identity by looking at their personal details. uMobix provides a list of the most popular contacts so they’re easy to spot.

Full Plan Features

After 2 weeks I decided to switch to the full plan, as my son rarely uses regular SMS texting as I’m sure all kids do now. Whatsapp and social media messengers give them much richer experiences.

The full plan gives access to all the supreme features that you will most likely need:

• Browsing History: I track websites visited and see what my kid searched for. I can read a brief description of those websites, and always get details like timestamps, visit frequency, and bookmarks.

• Social Media Monitoring: I can see what my son is up to in social media: what messages and media files he exchanges. Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp — all covered. uMobix also provides access to the timestamps to see when a chat or a message took place.

Drawbacks

The major drawback that matters to me is that one plan allows you to track one phone at a time. If I want to spy on more devices, I have to buy an additional subscription or choose a Family plan. But, frankly, with its price, there would be huge surprise if they let you monitor as many devices as you want.

The Verdict

After being a user of uMobix for 3 months I can admit — those guys did a brilliant job! I experienced no problem with performance at all, I mean AT ALL. Easy to use and install: you receive a very detailed letter with instructions that let you start using it at ease.

The best combination of tip-notch features, clear navigation, all at a reasonable price price. If you’re looking for an affordable and powerful spy app for Android or iOS, uMobix should definitely go on your list. I’ve tried it on Samsung Galaxy S9 (Android 8.0) and cannot be happier. IPhone users can get all information from the target device without the need to access the device physically.
